KCSN Weekly: November 15th, 2024 Edition

KC Sports Network

Hey, KCSN Family!

The Chiefs moved to 9-0 on the season on the heels of an epic blocked field goal as time expired by linebacker Leo Chenal against the Denver Broncos. The KC Current won their opening round playoff game. KU upset No. 17 Iowa State and MU had a come-from-behind victory over Oklahoma. It was a massive week for the area sports team and yours truly had it all covered. Let's dig into this week's highlights from the network.

Deron Cherry joins "The Process"

Our very own Shawn Barber visits with member of the Chiefs Ring of Honor, former safety Deron Cherry. They discussed the Chiefs hot start, the NFL trade deadline and much more!

Our Kansas State shows have on a couple of great guests

"Run it Back" with Jazmin Halliburton had on K-State Women's Basketball Head Coach Jeff Mittie to join her show to discuss all-things Wildcats Women's Basketball. Jazmin broke down how transfers are helping the program before having Mittie on to talk about playing with expectations, keys to success and the big matchup with Creighton. Then over on "3MAW" Cole Manbeck had on defensive lineman Brendan Mott to talk about his decision to return to the Wildcats in 2024, what's allowed him to have a strong year and the goals of the team.

"Booth Review" is joined by former Jayhawk running back Dave Winbush

Booth Review host Brandon McAnderson was joined by former KU running back Dave Winbush discussing current running back Devin Neal's legacy and what he has meant to the Jayhawks. The guys break down Kansas' improved offense and previewed the big upcoming game against Big 12's first place BYU Cougars.

This week's Substack article from KCSN Sports Data Scientist, Joseph Hefner

This week Joseph took a deep dive into the matchup and last weeks win against Denver. Joseph went in depth on the analytics, but the moral of the story is the Chiefs struggled in the red zone and it almost cost them. Denver scored on both of their red zone trips and KC came away with just 16 points on four trips to the red area. Chenal was the true difference after the Chiefs struggled in the run game and cornerback Trent McDuffie struggled against wide receiver Courtland Sutton. Read the full article here!
